A training holiday doesn’t have to mean martial arts. Plenty of people come to Life Resort to keep their strength work going, build conditioning, or simply train hard without the disruption of normal life. Between the indoor weight room and the HIIT classes, you can run a complete strength-and-conditioning week here — on its own, or alongside the striking and grappling.

Here’s how the two work, and how they fit together.

The indoor weight room

The weight room is there so you don’t lose a week of progress just because you’re away. Keep your programme running, build a dedicated strength block into your stay, or train around the classes — whatever suits your goals. Being indoors matters in Marrakech: you can lift properly in the cool, out of the midday heat, whenever it suits your day.

  • Keep your lifting going — don’t detrain on holiday; maintain or build while you’re here.
  • Train in the cool — indoors and out of the sun, so heat never caps your session.
  • Fit it around everything else — a morning strength session, or a second session on a lighter day.

HIIT classes

High-Intensity Interval Training is the fastest way to build cardio and burn energy when time is short — bursts of hard effort with brief recovery, scaled to your level. It’s the conditioning that complements everything else: it sharpens your engine for the mats, keeps your fitness ticking over, and delivers a serious workout in a short, focused block.

  • Big results, short sessions — a proper training effect without an hour-long grind.
  • All levels — the intensity scales to you; you work to your own effort, not someone else’s.
  • Great for groups — a shared HIIT session is a good way to train together with friends or a crew.

How they work together:

A common rhythm is strength in the weight room on some days, HIIT for conditioning on others, with the harder martial-arts sessions, if you do them, slotted in between. Strength builds the base, HIIT builds the engine, and recovery ties it together — the classic combination, run at whatever intensity suits your week.

Who this suits

  • Lifters and gym-goers who don’t want a week off to undo their progress.
  • Anyone chasing general fitness — a sunny, active week that leaves you fitter than you arrived.
  • Martial artists rounding out their game with dedicated strength and conditioning.
  • Groups wanting to train hard together without needing any martial-arts background.

Recovery is part of it

Hard training only works if you recover, and that’s built into the resort — the spa, the pool, good food and real rest. Yoga and mobility keep you moving well between sessions. Push in the morning, recover through the afternoon, and you can train hard again the next day rather than falling apart by mid-week.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to do martial arts to train here?

Not at all. Many guests come purely for strength and conditioning — the weight room and HIIT classes make a complete training week on their own.

What’s in the weight room?

It’s an indoor space set up for strength training so you can keep your programme going or build a strength block. Contact us before your stay if you’d like to check it suits your specific training.

Are the HIIT classes suitable for beginners?

Yes — HIIT scales to your level. You work to your own effort, so beginners and seasoned athletes can train in the same session.

Can I combine strength work with Muay Thai or BJJ?

Absolutely — that’s a common setup. Strength and conditioning complement Muay Thai and MMA & BJJ, and you can balance them however you like across the week.

Can I keep to my own training programme?

Yes. Use the weight room to run your own plan, drop into HIIT for conditioning, and shape the week around your goals. It’s a resort format, so you’re not locked into a fixed schedule.
